I had the opportunity to finish up 2 client quilts this week, and I'm currently working on a couple more. I got some new pantographs, and I am having fun trying them out. This log cabin quilt belongs to Mary Jane. She is a dear friend from church, and she spends the winters in Florida and has learned to quilt with friends down there. Great job on your first big quilt, Mary Jane! She mailed this quilt to me and asked to have it done by Easter when they returned to town. I used brown thread that coordinates very nicely, and MJ said I could pick the design to quilt on it. I chose one of my new ones called Hollyhock. This new panto has quickly become one of my favorites. It is a combination of star shaped flowers, feathery leaves, and some swirls. I just love it! Take a closer look below. The second quilt I finished this week was for Susan. I'm not sure of the pattern name, but it is a kind of disappearing 9 patch. She made it for her church, and it will be a wall hanging. She appropriately named it Joseph's Coat. Susan's fabric combination and handiwork is lovely. She chose a thread color that looks gorgeous with the fabric, and the pantograph is called Novaya Zhizn. Susan likes smaller scale quilting designs, so I reduced it to 75% on my printer. I think she made a great choice. The leaf motif looks very nice with the prints on the fabric. I'm very happy with how the quilting finished up on these two quilts, and I enjoyed looking at the backs as much as the fronts. Thank you to Mary Jane and Susan for letting me quilt for you!!
It is Finish It Up Friday, so I am linking up with Crazy Mom Quilts and Link a Finish Friday with Richard and Tanya Quilts. I am so flattered - Joyce's Lovely Labyrinth from last week's blog post is one of the featured links from last week. Woo hoo!! If you get a chance check out these other sites for some great quilting inspiration. I wish you a Happy Easter!
