Hello, friends. Today I'll share with you this quilt that I recently finished for Becky. I really love this sampler quilt because it is made up of so many traditional blocks, and I love the modern feel that it has with the solid and polka dot fabrics. This top picture is the block that Becky said was her favorite (if I remember correctly :-). Great color placement! There is the whole quilt. It was a block of the month quilt by Fig Tree Quilts from a couple of years back. I quilted it with cream colored thread and the Bubbles design. It was a really good choice. When I am selecting quilting designs or helping others do so I like to look at the fabric prints in the quilt for inspiration, and the bubbles really mimic the polka dots. Below are some more pictures of the blocks close up. Piecing a sampler quilt is a great way to learn some new techniques and find out what blocks you like to make and what blocks you never want to make again.
Great job, Becky! Thanks for letting me quilt this lovely quilt for you. I haven't shared much of my own sewing lately, and that's because I have WAY too many things started and nothing finished yet. Hopefully soon I'll have something done for show and tell. I'll be linking up over at Crazy Mom Quilts Finish It Up Friday. Have a wonderful weekend!

...to start your Christmas projects! This quilt belongs to Velma. She found this fabric on sale and couldn't pass it up, so she made a Christmas quilt for her bed. She pieced the quilt top and also a bed runner that she did some machine embroidery on also to dress it up (the part that says "Merry & Bright"). I quilted it using the Holly Berries pantograph and cream thread. The back of the quilt looked great, too. These days many quilters (including myself) are using different prints for backings, and it is nice to see something in off white with perfectly matching thread that really lets the quilting stand out on this one. Thanks, Velma, for having me quilt for you! I also quilted a baby quilt and table runner for another client, Susan. We loved the animals in this panel - there are even sloths! I'm going to be spending some quality time with my longarm machine this weekend so that next week I'll have some other lovely quilty stuff to share with you. Thanks so much for visiting!
