The last couple of weeks have been a bit of a whirlwind around here. The kids started back to school, and I started a new job. This has all been really good, but we all have to get used to a new daily routine. I have still been quilting some client quilts. Here are the latest two. This first one belongs to Terry. I did an edge to edge stipple in white thread. Terry did a beautiful job piecing this bright, happy quilt. She followed a pattern that was a block of the month kind of quilt in the McCall's Quilting magazine. Terry is a relatively new quilter, and she tried some new piecing techniques making this one - some she liked, and some she didn't like so much - but it's a wonderful way to learn. Great job, Terry! This second quilt is Janet's. The color palette is the polar opposite of Terry's quilt, but it is also very beautiful in the soft muted colors and nature prints. She pieced this large star design with half square triangles using a layer cake. She also pieced the back which is just as lovely as the front, I think. I quilted it with a design called Raindrops and a light green/yellow thread that looks great with all the fabrics. Thanks, ladies, for letting me quilt for you. It was fun!!
I'm linking up with Crazy Mom Quilts Finish It Up Friday. Please visit again next week when I have even more things to share. Happy quilting!

I joined The Little Foot Quilt Shoppe's Saturday Sampler Club in August, and this is the only thing I actually finished this week. I turned this (above).... into this (below)... I chose the traditional color option to challenge myself because it is out of my usual color selections. Notice there is no purple, turquoise, nothing that looks like a rainbow! The quilt is called Bountiful Baskets, and this particular block is an old traditional one called Cake Stand. I love it! I'll get block 2 to make next week.
I've been longarm quilting this week, too, but now that we have the first week of school out of the way (and first week of my new job) hopefully I can get back into some kind of a routine. I'm looking forward to a relaxing weekend to include much quilting. Please take time to visit Crazy Mom Quilts Finish It Up Friday if you can. I'll be linking up over there. Have a great week! |
