Last week I finished quilting this for Aunt Brenda. One day a couple of years ago she and I got together and each pieced a quilt top using this pattern. Brenda purchased hers in the form of a kit, if I remember correctly. The pattern is Sundance by Villa Rosa Designs, and if you click the link here you will see the quilt on the pattern photo is made of almost exactly the same fabrics! (Cool - I forgot about that until I just looked it up :-) Brenda let me use this quilt for some custom quilting and free motion practice. She liked the idea of outline quilting around the large floral print which I did, and I came up with my own ideas for the pieced square portion. The thread I used was Omnithread, a bluish green color. This is a really FAST quilt top to make. We made ours in a few hours one afternoon. It can also be versatile. Brenda recently made another one and did her own custom embroidery work (which was a lot more time consuming) in the large squares using her Bernina. Sorry, I don't have a picture of that one. Below you can see the quilting on the back. And here's the whole quilt. I know it is always fun to see the same quilt made up using different fabrics, so here is a picture of the one I made. I quilted an edge-to-edge paisley design on it. It's currently for sale in my Etsy shop. Now Brenda has some binding she can do if we get trapped in by the big snowstorm coming. Thanks for letting me quilt for you, Aunt Brenda!
I'm getting back to work on client quilts now that the holidays are over. Thanks for stopping by. I'll be linking up over at Crazy Mom Quilts Finish It Up Friday. Have a great day!!

Thank you, Mari. Yes, thinking about a bright bed of poppies is good in the middle of winter!
