Happy Friday! Today I am linking up with Crazy Mom Quilts Finish It Up Friday again. I'm very happy with the finished (well, almost finished) quilt. I just have a little more binding to stitch down. The fabric prints and colors have been so fun to work with. I love the way it turned out. The pattern for this quilt is called Cathedral by Villa Rosa Designs. It uses a jelly roll and a little extra fabric for the center of the rectangles and background at the edges of the quilt. It goes together very easily and quickly - very enjoyable to make. The fabric I used was a jelly roll from Benartex called Palazzo. The rectangle centers and background fabric are batiks. I used all the jelly roll scraps and one left-over rectangle block and pieced them into the back. The backing color is a taupe/gray color that matches perfectly. I quilted it with gray thread and a pantograph called Bauhaus. It is a more modern design with interlocking rectangles - just right for this quilt. Actually, this is the second Cathedral quilt I have made. The first one you can see below. It is currently our favorite quilt to snuggle up with on the couch. Yes - check out that blue sky and green grass!! It will be so nice to hang quilts outside again soon. And with that happy thought, I wish you all a good day, and thanks for stopping by!
