Hello! My birthday was last weekend, and I got myself some presents while searching on Amazon for a new stiletto tool (lost mine and I LOVE that tool). I have always thought that Sidekick ruler was pretty cute from Jaybird Quilts. And if you get a new ruler it is a good idea to buy a pattern to go with it, right? This Sprinkles pattern was the perfect choice. Most quilters will understand that no matter how many already-started projects you have laying around, when you get a new tool or ruler you have to try it out. I decided to use this pattern but make a few less stars and turn them into a table runner. I had some jelly roll strips from the Moda fabric line Refresh and some Grunge fabric that matched just right for the background. The Sidekick ruler made for some quick cutting. The pieces went together easily, and the points matched up pretty well with a consistent scant 1/4" seam allowance and just a little attention to detail. I pressed all of the seams open. Just think how great this will look with some quilting. It would be easy to make larger stars with this ruler, too, and make a big quilt. Thanks for stopping by. I have a beautiful quilt that is almost finished in the longarm that I'll show you next week. Have a great day!
I'll be linking up over at Crazy Mom Quilts Finish It Up Friday.
