Welcome! This week I quilted for a friend and sewing buddy from church, Debbie. Debbie is a wonderful piecer. I believe this is the falling charms pattern. The fabrics are stunning. I used one of my new pantographs called Paisley Curls for the design and black thread. This is a perfect example where black batting was needed, and Debbie provided that. The backing fabric was the same as the background fabric on the front, black with gold print. It is very hard to see the quilting, but it is a beautiful quilt Thanks for letting me quilt for you, Debbie!! A little something else that I have been working on (below) this week is experimenting with piecing the zigzag or chevron design with strip pieced squares. It is a very easy technique, but I also found that keeping those squares going the right direction could go wrong pretty quickly if you weren't paying attention. I trimmed down the piece for a nice background, and I'll be adding some applique later. Tomorrow is a sewing day here with Mom and Aunt Brenda which is going to be awesome. Tonight I'm going to prepare my fabric so that I'm ready to sew. Check out this pretty jelly roll! Now I hope you want to come back next week and see what is going to happen with this. Hopefully I'll make some good progress and have something to show you.
I'll be linking up over at Crazy Mom Quilts Finish It Up Friday. Have a good night!
