Have you seen the new Pittsburgh fabric? Well now you can say you have! It's pretty fun to look at, and if you are feeling artsy you could color it with some fabric markers. I recently quilted this for Jenny. She made it for a friend who lives in England. Jenny is always creating her own unique quilt designs, and this one is no exception. The Union Jacks were in a panel that she cut up and pieced in the quilt. If you are interested in the Pittsburgh fabric, it was designed by a local artist (I've heard) and can be purchased at The Quilt Company. There are the 2 colorways shown here in black and white and black and gold. Jenny loves Moda Grunge and also included it in the quilt. I quilted it with the Raindrops design. Jenny's friend says it rains a lot in England, so it seemed like a good choice, and it worked nicely with the contemporary design of the quilt. Thanks for letting me quilt for you, Jenny! I also recently quilted two of these deer quilts for Terry. She used a large panel in the middle and added borders and corner blocks. I gotta say that these deer panels were very real looking and very pretty! I quilted with a matching gold thread and the Novaya Zhizn pattern. I love how graceful the leaf design looks over the deer, too. Thank you, Terry, for letting me quilt for you again!
Thanks for checking out my work. Maybe you've been inspired to use a printed fabric panel in a new way. I'll also be sharing over at Crazy Mom Quilts Finish It Up Friday. Have a great week!

I just came across this article about the Pittsburgh fabric. Do you know if this fabric is still available? We live in Florida but are from the Pittsburgh area. I would love to make my hubby a quilt from this. I would probably need about 2 yards.

Hello, Shirley! I am not a shop owner, and I have no idea if you can still buy this. This post is a few years old. Good luck, and thanks for visiting!
