I have been happily quilting this past week. How could you not smile going to work on this pretty quilt? All I could think was "happy, happy, happy," and then I would have to squelch thoughts of Duck Dynasty and get back to quilting. This quilt belongs to Velma, and it was fun for me not only because it is in bright colors that I am drawn to, but Velma also requested a variegated thread on this one that is new to me. It was really fun to see it all come together. Thankfully the thread (King Tut, Superior Thread) ran beautifully with no problems at all. The pantograph Velma chose is Fandango - also a first for me using this design, and it really made me happy, too. ![]() Next up is a really sweet quilt that belongs to Katie. Katie is a new client to me, and it was a pleasure to meet her and learn that she likes a more modern style of quilting and fabrics. I don't usually spend much time - any time at all, really - thinking about mermaids or mermaids swimming with whales for that matter, but the fabrics used in Katie's quilt can send you off in a daydream about magical underwater places. This quilt is for a girl's bed, and I think it will be perfect, don't you? Katie's quilt is quilted using pink thread and the Bubbles pantograph. Thanks so much, ladies, for letting me quilt for you!! Yesterday in my mailbox came a happy surprise! I ordered the new book from Anka's Treasures called Angles With Ease 2 by Heather Peterson. Part of the surprise was that Heather was generous and included an extra pattern in my package! Her designs really appeal to me, and I have many of her books and patterns. I just finished piecing a table runner that is one of her designs from the book On The Run, Again. The design is called Fresh Connection. Below is a peek at another table runner I finished piecing recently. I just made this up as I went along, trial and error style. I had some charm squares of the beautiful Moda fabric line Fresh Cut and cut some tiny Dresden plate blades. I think I got 6 blades from one 5" square. The background is mostly charm squares cut in half and placed around as a border. I am happy with the final result, though I have no idea when I will actually get to quilt my growing collection of table runners, as client quilts keep coming in (which also makes me happy). It is Friday. You guessed it - I'll be linking up at Crazy Mom Quilts Finish It Up Friday.
Happy Friday!

Hi Teresa. I'm not sure which quilt pattern you mean specifically. The Fandango pantograph pattern is designed by Sandrah Burrier. The Bubbles pattern is published by Lorien Quilting. I purchase paper pantographs (and they are also available in digital versions) from urbanelementz.com and quiltscomplete.com. I just tried looking it up, and Fandango seems to be out of stock, but it looks like Bubbles is still available. Hope that helps you in your search.
