Let me tell you about a fun project that Mom, Aunt Brenda, and I have been working on. They are works in progress, but close to finished. This past Christmas Mom bought for the three of us mystery quilt kits from The Quilt Company. We did not know what the quilt was going to look like or even what the fabrics would look like, only the color scheme. The fabric for the tops came in a sealed brown paper bag with only a paper attached that was a paint chip from Lowes showing the color combination inside. Mom did not allow us to open them until Christmas! That was a fun surprise. Starting in January for seven weeks we received email instructions with the next steps to complete. It was very fun to work on together, and the suspense each week made it even more interesting. We are all very pleased with our quilt tops. Brenda already longarm quilted hers. It just needs binding. You can see it below. Her fabrics are golds, greens, and some black. It is very beautiful in person. It was hard to capture the true colors in the photo. It has a little shimmer to it! Below you can see Mom's quilt. I tried to get some shots outside on this lovely spring day, but the wind wasn't cooperating with me. I really love the turquoise color in hers. Next up is my mystery quilt, and the picture at the top of this post is the close up. Again, the wind was giving me a hard time. I ordered some new pantograph designs, and I am excited to try a couple of them out on these quilts.
I'm linking up with WIP Wednesday over at Freshly Pieced where you can find more quilty inspiration. Have a nice day!
