My birthday was last week, and as a present to myself I decided to take a couple days and quilt some of my own projects for a change. It felt really good to do that. I have had these table runners pieced and waiting. This one was made with charm squares using a pattern from Anka's Treasures book On The Run Again. It's the one on the cover. I quilted it with a ruler and straight lines in the center stars and free motion swirls all around. Also from the same book, this next one has a contemporary feel. I just quilted a grid of squares. I spy two flamingos! Several posts back I shared the Maple Star blocks I was making from the Moda Fresh Cut fabrics. I made six blocks using charm squares along with coordinating fabric for the background and border. I really liked the way these stars turned out. I made two table runners like this. They are quilted edge to edge with my pattern Camillas. So pretty! I had leftover fabric from the Maple Stars, and so I was experimenting with some small Dresden plate ideas, and this is what I came up with. There was not as much contrast between the Dresden plates and the background as I wanted, but I was just using the charm squares I had. I think it is pretty in a shabby chic sort of way. I did some free motion on this one which was really fun! This final table runner I made using my Scrap Crazy 6 templates with jelly roll strips and a yellowish cream background. I quilted with a little ruler work in the diamonds and other free motion designs. I took these photos outside in the grass today, and they sure didn't come out as nicely as I would have liked. I'll have to keep experimenting with photography. Anyhow...
Now I have some binding to do, and that will be more fun! I enjoy doing that by hand. It's relaxing to me. When they're finished these will probably be added to my Etsy shop. Thanks for stopping by. You can check out more Friday finishes over at Crazy Mom Quilts Finish It Up Friday.
