I am happy to be completing some quilts this week, even though it has been a very busy week and I have had a bit of a cold. I finished this table runner for Susan. The more I look at this, the more I love it. She did a great job piecing it, and the sunflower blocks (at least that is what I call them) are so cheerful. I wanted to show the picture above because you can see the piece before quilting is beautiful, and when you add the quilting it changes so much and adds another dimension, kind of brings it to life a little. It is a fun process to see, and I am amazed every time. The pantograph she chose is called Honeysuckle, and it is quilted with gold thread. Below is a lovely quilt pieced by Carolyn. She took a class at The Little Foot Quilt Shoppe to make this. The colors are beautiful and rich, and the photos I took don't quite do them justice. The fabric line is called Civil War Jubilee by Moda. The pantograph she chose is called Spring Thing, and the thread is a golden brown. It looks great with all of the fabrics. I have to laugh about this particular spool of thread. It is one of the newest spools I purchased, and I have used it on 4 different projects already. I'll have to get another spool soon. It is Omnithread color #3066 called Bronco, in case any of you other quilters out there want to give it a try. Some other interesting details about this one are that Carolyn had some extra blocks from the quilt top, and she made pillow sham covers with them that I also quilted for her. She also used extra fabric from the front to piece into the back, and she added the scripture verse below. Matthew chapter 6 has been particularly meaningful to me, and I thought it was a beautiful addition. I have more projects lined up to keep me busy this weekend. I hope you get some time to quilt this weekend, too! Thanks for checking in!!
