This week I only finished one thing. I have been feeling overwhelmed lately because I have too many projects started and need to focus on those before I cut into any more fabric. Maybe you can relate? I have also had a busy week with other family stuff. The good news is Spring is coming, and there is a little more sunshine each day as the days grow longer. This morning it was actually too sunny in my kitchen to take photos of this little quilt at the table! Last weekend Aunt Brenda and I went to a quilt shop we love, but it is about an hour drive, so we don't go very often. I think it is only the third time I've been there. It is Quilter's Corner in Finleyville, PA. They have an amazing selection of fabric. I also found and purchased a book with patterns for table runners called "Table Please." The patterns use piecing and fusible applique to create spring and summer table decorations. ![]() Here is a picture of the cover of the book. I see it has the Fat Quarter Shop logo on it, but you should be able to find it easily anywhere online. Those are some very happy-looking projects, right? So I challenged myself to make this lovely table runner out of my own stash and not purchase anything for it. I have lots of green scraps, but green is often a difficult color to match up. I did seem to manage it, though! After I got the thing pieced and fused, I went to my thread collection and realized I didn't have much to choose from, but again I worked it out. I finished up 2 partial spools of green thread, and the background quilting is actually a light yellow. I did a small blanket stitch around the appliques and free motion quilted it with the swirl design that mimicked some of the fabric prints. I think it turned out just fine for nothing but scraps. I will definitely be making more projects from this book! They are super cute, and anything that can point toward warm weather, grass, leaves on trees, and sunshine is worthwhile (we are expecting another winter storm this weekend)!! Keep checking back here to see more. I am linking up with Finish It Up Friday over at Crazy Mom Quilts. Thanks for visiting!
