My Rainbow Diamonds Quilt

My Rainbow Diamonds Quilt

Welcome to my new blog on my new website - TerriFaustQuilts.com!  I’ve been working on my pattern design business and my new website and now have several digital patterns for sale.  I’m still in the early stages and will be continually adding content, learning, and improving.  I decided my first post will be about this awesome scrap quilt I started back in 2015 and just finished in 2023.

Way back when, I had seen a Cut Loose Press pattern that I really liked called Emerald City designed by Christine Van Buskirk using the Creative Grids Scrap Crazy 6 template set.  I was confident that I could look at the photo and figure it out with the template set that I had, and I wanted to use my black and white stash with bright batiks.  So many years have passed, and I don’t even remember how the color pattern began, but I charted it out and even made a fabric “key” to keep track of fabric placement.  I was pretty proud of myself.

The pieces were cut with the templates, then sewn together, and sadly got stored away for 8 years.  I knew that I wanted to custom quilt this one, and at the end of Summer 2023 the time just seemed right to get the top out of the closet and do it!  I quilted each column of the colored diamonds with a different pattern.  It was a lot of fun to quilt.

The quilt was finished so that I could show it off at the St. John’s UCC Quilt Show in Evans City, PA, in November.  I brought it home and hung it behind my longarm where every day I enjoy the cheer and brightness it brings.

Thanks for reading!  I hope you found a little inspiration to create.  Coming up soon I’ll be sharing about the quilts behind the patterns I’ve designed.
